Thumbs Down:

1. A woman looked at our house last week and just loved it.  She brought her husband to see it on Monday and he was very quiet except to say one of the bathroom's needed remodeling and they'd already done a lot of that on their current house.  Our realtor is hoping the woman just needed some time to talk her husband into it.  I'm afraid it was a woman who thought she needed a new house and her husband didn't. 
2. I was a crabby patty today.  It's not very often that I'm in a cranky mood all day but this was one of them.  Several little things that put me in the mood. 
3. My great uncle passed away.  He was my step grandpa's brother.  Grandpa died when I was 12 but he lived in town and I spent tons of time with him.  Out of his 3 brothers, this was the one I was closest to.  He and his wife have lived in AZ the past 10 years and had just moved back to MT to be closer to family.  I've made at least 3 trips to Billings and wanted to stop and see them but always had other things to do.  Now, I regret waiting.  I'd also like to go to his funeral tomorrow but it's not going to work out.  He has such a twinkle in his eye.

Thumbs Up:

1. We really are making good progress on the house.  We've started painting the basement even though we don't plan to totally finish the basement right away.  The tile is done in the foyer and Lily's bathroom floor and shower.  Ray's started hanging interior doors and putting on base trim so the carpet installer can come.  2/3 of the kitchen cabinets are done.  I need to get pictures of some of the lights Ray's installed because they are gorgeous!  We're very tentatively hoping to be in around the end of the month.  (No laughing, mom).
2. There's no school tomorrow so Ray's taking the boys hunting.  This will be Cody's first time going as an official "hunter" since passing Hunter's Safety.
3. The 1st quarter is done at school.  Cody really struggled the past few years but is finally taking school more seriously.  There is still room for improvement but he made the Honor Roll so we're very proud.  All his teachers had great things to say.  This is Jace's first year to receive letter grades and he earned all A's and B's.  He's also suddenly taken a huge interest in reading.  He's always hated reading but is now reading 300 page novels!!  Lily is also doing well.  All of the kids' teachers are very impressed with their transition into new schools.  It truly has been amazing and we couldn't have asked for the move to be any smoother.
4. Cody has started Middle School wrestling and his first tournament is Saturday.  Wrestling is such a different environment here.  In Jamestown, Cody was teased a lot for being a wrestler instead of playing hockey or basketball.  Here, wrestling is huge!  Last night, they had a photo shoot for their team poster!!  He's best friend here is also a wrestler and a super, nice kid.
5. Though the weather in October was awful, November is off to a gorgeous start.  It's even supposed to hit 60 tomorrow.

Cloudy:

1. The weather!  September was our most summer-like weather of the year.  It was just beautiful!  October 1 came along and we switched straight to winter.  It's been cold, rainy, and windy.  Thankfully, we haven't had any snow yet though it's been in the forecast a lot.
2. I have to miss Cody's 2nd middle school football game tonight because it's during my choir rehearsal.  Pooh!

Sunny:

1. I had 3 moles on my back biopsied last week and they all came back negative.  I'd had a few done in college and those were also fine.  Better safe than sorry, though. 
2. Every week I've had more children showing up for choir and we're having a great time!  I found some really awesome songs for us to sing.
3. I raised $285 for the March of Dimes when I went to jail today.
4. By the end of today, the entire upstairs of our new house will be primered, 1/2 the ceiling painted, and the kitchen walls done.  Moving right along now!

Fumble:

1. I'm having 3 moles removed from my back next Monday.  I had 2 removed in college and my chiropractor suggested I have a few checked out at my last appt. before we moved.  I finally got around to it yesterday.  At first, the Dr. thought there were 2 that just needed watching but then she found one she didn't like under my bra strap.  If they're removing one, we might as well just get rid of all 3. 
2. Jace's flag football team got creamed last night. 
3. The Steelers lost on Sunday because Jeff Reed missed 2 field goals.  I could've understood missing one in the pouring rain but 2?!

Touchdown:

1. We're ordering our kitchen cabinets today or tomorrow.
2. The perfotaper finally arrived last night and began work today.  I'm hoping things will move along now!
3. The start of Fall TV programming.  I enjoyed DWTS and Castle last night. 
4. The kids are acclimating soooo well here.  I'm very happy and excited for them.
5. The 1st practice for my new kids' choir here was last Wednesday and I only had 6 kids (2 were mine).  When I scheduled it, I didn't realize it was an "early out" day for school.  The church program that is before my choir had less than half of the kids that attended the previous week so I'm hoping my attendance will be much better tomorrow.  I'd really like a minimum of 15 kids.
6. I went to my first handbell practice last week.  I've always wanted to learn to play.  It's harder than I thought but the others said I did amazing for my first time.

Thumbs Down:

1. I stunk at golf league again this week.  I also golfed Monday and Wednesday and apparently my problem is nerves at women's league because I golf much better when I'm not at that!
2. My Great Aunt Betty passed away this week.  She was 84 and had Alzheimer's so it was a blessing but always sad.  She looked a lot like my Little Grandma so I always felt closer to her when Betty was around.  I'll be going to Billings with my parents for the funeral tomorrow.
3. Big Ben being accused of rape by some gal in a civil case because the DA won't even prosecute.  I don't buy it for one second.

Thumbs Up:

1. Lily had her 1st sleepover of the summer last night.  It worked out especially well because then the boys and I went golfing.  After that, Cody babysat Jace while Ray & I met my parents down at the Pub.  My mom's best friend and husband were in town for the first time in 3 years. 
2. They've finally started roofing the house and the stucco guy should be coming soon.
3. It's been a pretty uneventful week so I can't think of anything else!

Stinky:

1. I'm signed up to do the women's golf league for the first time tonight and the wind is blowing about 50mph and it's raining off and on.  Sure hoping it quits in the next 2 hours!
2. I miss my friends back in ND.
3. Our house still hasn't sold.  Supposedly there was a really positive showing last week but we haven't had an offer.  It really needs to sell SOON!
4. Coming home Sunday night to a terrible mess left by the babysitter and kids including a pint of chocolate milk sitting on the counter, everything from supper left out, and the kids still awake when it was 1 1/2 hrs past when they were supposed to be in bed!

Perfume:

1. Ray & I went on the 2nd annual Cattle Crawl Sunday night.  It's a progressive beef dinner.  We started out at the Cattle-ac for appetizers, then we went to my parents' restaurant for their big salad bar, next we hopped on 2 large busses and went 10 miles to Fairview for a roast beef dinner, and then we went another 30 miles for a steak dinner before returning.  There was a free drink at each stop plus free beer on the bus.  Of course, I felt like my normal, boring self because I wasn't drinking.
2. The deck being built on our new house.
3. Meeting more people.
4. Going to Billings this weekend for the soccer tournament.  The coach is very impressed with the boys' skills.  It'll be nice to bond with the other families, too.
5. Seeing my cousin from AZ in Billings this weekend.  I think it's been about 5 years!

Thumbs Down:

1. Facebook not letting me post status updates.  It's obviously not doing it to everyone.  Are my updates just too boring or what?
2. Having to wait a week for my MT drivers license.  There's no sales tax in MT and ND doesn't charge MT residents sales tax on purchases over $50 if you have a MT drivers license.  Ray and I need to run to Menards this weekend and get a bunch of stuff for the new house.  Guess we'll have to make mom come with so we can use hers.

Thumbs Up:

1. Being at the lake!
2. The guys bringing in 16 walleye today.  There's nothing like fresh walleye and rhubarb crunch for supper!
3. Only having to drive 2 hrs to get to the lake.  It sure beats 3 1/2 hrs.
4. Jace & Lily's Vacation Bible Camp finale.  Lily did the opening prayer all by herself.  I'll have to share that video later.
5. Cody taking 3rd at the wrestling camp takedown tournament.

Thumbs Down:

1. The builders are gone this week so very little is happening on the house.  Of course, it rained half the time so doesn't really matter if they were here anyway.  The rafters have arrived and the builders will be back Sunday so hopefully we'll have a roof next week!
2. Missing my friends back in Jamestown.
3. Feeling like an outsider.
4. Not recognizing people who know me.
5. Lily getting green hair from the pool or hot tub.

Thumbs Up:

1. Ray & his dad are getting some plumbing done in the house and building walls in the basement.
2. Cody making the All Star soccer team here so he gets to go to a tournament next month.
3. Jace in wrestling camp.
4. Meeting some new people and the kids meeting new friends.
5. Eating well :)
6. Swimming lessons starting next week so we should all meet a bunch of people there.

Thumbs Down:

1. You know that cold I was complaining about 10 days ago?  Still here.  It's really weird because I have this loose cough but feel alright most of the time.  Then every few days, I start getting short of breath and need to have a breathing treatment.  Enough already!
2. Still no movement on our house.  I'm trying to decide what the next step should be.  We leave June 1 and will leave all the furniture since our new house won't be ready yet.  Our contract with the current realtor is up at the end of May so we're trying to decide if we should switch.  Aside from the 2 open houses, she has not shown the house once herself.  I'm wondering if we should paint over some of the purple, change the kitchen/dining flooring, get a new front door, lower the price, etc?
3. This afternoon is my last practice with the kids' choirs at church.  I wrote each of the kids a personal note and included some "I'm on God's team" tattoos.  We always conclude the year with a root beer float party.
4. I haven't updated on the flood lately mainly because nothing's changed.  The releases from the reservoirs are still at record levels and probably will be another 3 weeks.  The dikes and levees are holding.  Most of them are only made for 3 weeks and it'll be at least 2 months so I hope they can maintain.  The reservoir levels are finally dropping.  The biggest concern is the sewer system.  On an average day, 1.5 million gallons goes through it.  Since the flood started, the average is 6-7 million gallons per day.  For at least a week, 4 lift stations have been emptied into the river.  Yes, it is legal.  Apparently, with the amount of water in the river, the sewage is very diluted.  Regardless, I won't be going for a swim anytime soon.  Residents are being asked to conserve water.  (I've spent years trying to get the kids to always flush the toilet and now I'm telling them not to)!  I just hope the system doesn't fail before we're out of here! 

Thumbs Sideways:

1. 19 days until we leave.  We're at the point of lots of "lasts":  last choir practice, last day of confirmation, last hair appts, last massage, etc.  I've sent out most of our "change of address" updates.  Sad as all of these things are, I'm still excited about starting our new life back in MT.

Thumbs Up:

1. Progress on the new house is continuing.  The basement forms have taken a little longer than expected because of all the "jogs" the house has.  They hope to start pouring the walls today.
2. Ray mowed the lawn for the first time last night!
3. Friday, I'm making a quick trip to Fargo while the kids are at school.  I simply must have one more trip to The Children's Place before I'm forced to do all my shopping there online.
4. My aunt just sent these pictures from my grandpa's funeral reception.

Thumbs Down:

1. Obviously, I'm preoccupied with my grandpa.  He's still hanging in there despite the IV, antibiotics, and feeding tube being discontinued.  They're trying to keep him as comfortable as possible.  I just hope he's not suffering.
2. Jace got Cody's nasty cold so was home today.

Thumbs Up:

1. We had another house showing this afternoon.  Haven't heard any feedback from it yet.
2. Hope to break ground on the new house within the next week.
3. DQ Heath blizzards.
4. Only one of the dams is expected to go over the spillway now which is great news.  The other one should start going over anytime now.

Thumbs Down:

1. Sour shoulders.  I did go to the chiropractor yesterday and had some ultrasound which really helps. 
2. Being overwhelmed by all the decision that need to be made when building a house.  Oy!
3. State wrestling being rescheduled to Easter weekend so we have 2 instead of 4 days to get things started on the new house.
4. My grandpa being back in the hospital with pneumonia.

Thumbs Up:

1. I was thrilled with the ACM Awards except for one.  There were some great surprises.
2. 11 days until the Sugarland concert!!
3. Finally coming up with an awesome design for our kitchen.  I'll share a picture when we get the drawing back.
4. Sunday, our church had a giant Jerusalem Marketplace to celebrate Palm Sunday.  It was just awesome.  I took lots of pictures and will try to share some soon.
5. Remember the Mom's dance I did last year?  We started practice for this year's last night.
