Things I Dislike:
- Yesterday morning, Lily fell backwards off our bed and hit her head really hard. I still had her go to swim lessons thinking it would take her mind off things. She did fairly well until the last 5 minutes when she got out. She was nauseous. When we got to the house, she curled up on the bed under a blanket and said she just wanted to go to sleep. That's when alarm bells started going off in my head so off to the ER we went. She threw up when we were in the ER and then really perked up. The Dr. said sometimes the adrenaline from an injury makes someone nauseous and tired but he didn't think it was a concussion. Whew!
- Cody had a horrible migraine yesterday. I don't know when he'll learn to watch for the early signs so he can take medicine early enough to head them off. He ended up throwing up twice, slept from 5:30-9:00 on the bathroom floor, and then Ray moved him to bed. He's still sleeping.
- Movie companies taking kids' toys and making movies about them that are not appropriate for the kids who play with the toys! "Transformers 2"
Things I Like:
- I think we'll be ordering our cabinets next week. We're almost done with the design. They're the Maple Glaze ones. http://www.pinnaclehomeproducts.com/Cabinets_c_1.html
- We've also got most of our light fixtures chosen and hope to order them next week.
- Today is the Town & Country Festival in town. We'll be taking in the parade, free lunch, games, and other entertainment.
- Three days until we see our neighbors from back in Jamestown!!
- The theater in town just reopened after being closed for a year. Now, if they could get a PG movie that would be great.
- Spending a 99 degree day at the pool with friends.
- Jace made Cody's All Star soccer team! He'll be a sub but he's still doing awesome considering most of the kids are 11 or 12 and he's just 9.
- I had my first hair cut & color here yesterday. It's scary for me to go to someone new. I just about fainted when she told me the price. It was $60. In Jamestown, I paid $120!!
We are still home. The state wrestling tournament was cancelled because of the flooding in Fargo. They need the schools and civic center in Bismarck for evacuees. So, we didn't have to worry about bad roads yesterday. We hardly know what to do with a weekend with no activities. We slept in this morning and then Ray made me pancakes in bed. Well, he brought me the pancakes in bed. He didn't actually "make" them in bed LOL. Think we might take on a few more fix it projects around the house to help it sell.

- What kind of idiots give their employees contracts that promise bonuses even when the company loses millions of dollars? I wonder if they're still hiring...............
Thumbs Up:
- Happy St. Patrick's Day!
2. Kids are so adorable when they're sleeping. Lily doesn't want to mess up her bed so I found her asleep like this last night.
3. Tomorrow, Cody's class leaves on a field trip to Minneapolis. They'll be going to an art museum, the symphony (composed by a 17 yr old), volunteering at Mary's Place, eating Japanese where they cook it in front of you, and spending the night at a church. They return late tomorrow night. I'm really bummed that I can't go with and annoyed that the chaperone spots were already filled before a notice came out asking for volunteers. Oh well, I'm not much for sleeping on floors anyway. Today at noon, we're having a prayer service for them. I'm really going to miss that kind of thing at public school.
4. I spied and saw the people who came to look at our house last night. They had a boy who looked about 1-2 yrs old. I bet he loved the toy room! I must say it was weird to see strangers going into my house, though.
5. We're having gorgeous spring weather this week. We might even hit 50 degrees! The snow is melting faster than I thought possible which isn't all good as we have some flood advisories. It was also hard on Cody's first snowman which fell over so he rebuilt it bigger and better. Good thing I got another picture because the new one fell over now, too.
Remember when we were here last and Jace threw up out of the blue on Christmas Eve? We were sure he had the flu which was going to affect our ski trip but then he never threw up again. Last night, we got here around 8:00. The kids went to bed around 9:30. At 10:30, I saw Jace come out and walk past the bathrooms and then start coming back when he threw up all over the floor. Once again, I thought here we go! There's way too much to get done this weekend for everyone to get sick. Well, he's been fine ever since. The only thing we can figure out is that he had a strawberry milkshake poptart when we arrived and had them over Christmas, too. We never buy them at home so they only eat them here. Cody eats them, too, but I'm thinking there's something in them that just doesn't agree with Jace. At least it's not the stomach flu!
We're meeting the realtor at 11 to go view some lots.

- Our stupid Martha Steward pre-lit tree. We bought it 2 years ago. Last year, some of the lights were out. You can't just pull the bulbs out and replace them because some are molded into the sockets. Pretty sure they are not supposed to be llike that. You may remember this picture from last year when Ray was splicing wires and using the blow torch on the tree. I probably should've been holding a fire extinguisher instead of a camera. Anyway, we went to put up the tree last night and at least 1/2 the lights don't work now. Ray's not about to try and fix that many lights so I had to go buy extras today. The moral to the story: don't buy prelit trees!
2. My messy house. Thank goodness the cleaning ladies come tomorrow.
3. Dry mouth. I finally made myself a Dr. appt. for Friday. I just called the nurse first hoping the Dr. could just order the blood work. He was just going to give me some expensive pill that helps with dry mouths. Umm, how about trying to figure out what's causing it? He's probably going to think I'm a hypochondriac. I know I'm a highly unlikely candidate for diabetes but I have too many symptoms to not at least rule it out.
Thumbs Up:
- Ultrasound at physical therapy. My shoulders got a little out of whack again sleeping on a bad bed & pillow at my mom's. I think I better start taking my good pillow with me.
- Finishing my Christmas newsletters.
- Croissants from Walmart. They're good for breakfast & lunch!
- Christmas music.
5. An amazing husband.
Thumbs Down:
- Our friend's brother was killed in a hunting accident over the weekend. He leaves behind a wife and 3 teenagers. His friend's gun accidentally discharged in the vehicle.
- We watched "We are Marshall" this weekend. I love a good football movie. However, I cried through almost the entire thing. Who knew a football movie could be that sad?
Thumbs Up:
- Sleeping in because there's no school today.
- A yummy, new recipe I made last night - Chicken Broccoli Divan.
- I had my last p/t appt. yesterday. The progress has been remarkable. More than anything, I have to watch my posture. My lower back is getting a little sore because it's used to slouching but I'm even walking straighter. When you're only 5'0", you can take all the extra height you can get.
We are home! We got in around 6 pm last night and did nothing but vegetate until collapsing into bed around 9. We had to get up at 3:30 am to make the bus to take us to our flight so it was a very long day. The trip was fantastic and I'm just getting started downloading the 224 photos I took! That doesn't count the ones taken by Disney that will be on my Photo Pass account. I'll try and start sharing tomorrow.
You know how much I enjoyed that MRI? Well, I got to go have another one yesterday! During the 1st one, they just did my mid-back. Right at the top, it looked like there might be something so I had to go back and have my neck done. I was smarter this time and got some drugs to help get me through it. They seemed to help and I was also only in the tube as far as my knees which was nice because I could still see out. The MRI technician said there's definitely a bulging if not herniated disk in my neck. Hope for the bulging because herniated disks could need surgery. Even though this disk isn't where my pain is it could still be the cause. My shoulder issues are really muscle knots so its possible the muscles are being pulled weird because of the bad disk. I should have an official report from my Dr. by the end of the day.
Taking matters into my own hands, I bit the bullet and bought an expensive TempurPedic pillow. This past week, Ray took one of the pillows out of the shams and started using it since ours have broken down so badly. Somehow, mine got switched with his and my shoulders have been feeling better. It kills me to spend this much money on a pillow but I'm considering it an investment. After all, I'm spending tons of money on the chiropractor every week so hopefully this will help alleviate some of that expense! I did enjoy sleeping on it last night. The pillow's also guaranteed for 3 years which is better than having to replace a cheap one every 6 months.
