We do a big, Christmas lunch which consisted of beef and pork tenderloins, garlic mashed potatoes, corn pie, salads, chocolate cake, and cherry cheesecake. Afterwards, we read the Christmas story.
Then, we open up the rest of the presents. Autographed footballs by Steelers kick returner, Allen Rossum. All the present opening tired out my grandpa and Rascal. I even got a game for the Wii. Can't wait to try it out! And both Ray & my parents bought me one of these so I returned Ray's and plan to have my car detailed. Ray & Cody tried out the Guitar Hero. And Lily tried out her guitar while wearing her new dress up clothes. We got this in Pittsburgh for Cody's new bedroom. The rest of my presents. Ray got me a pair of diamond earrings exactly like the ones he forgot buying me a few years ago. I'd mentioned I wanted to upgrade sometime. So, now I'll take both pairs in and get some bigger ones. I guess he didn't do as bad as my dad who bought my mom the exact same jewelry he'd gotten her the past 2 Christmases!! Lily models one of her new outfits.Saturday night, we BBQ'd at my parent's house again. Before supper, we talked my Uncle into a little serenade. The girls really enjoyed it.
Ray also got his guitar out and shared the first songs he's learning. We took family pictures. Everyone who attended except for two people. Here are all the photos from the reunion. AlbumWe got to Bismarck in time to have McD's with Connie and the girls. After that, we ran to the mall for a bit and then headed for Cody's first soccer game. They lost 8-3. Cody scored one goal and it was pretty sweet because the goalie for the opposing team was his wrestling nemesis, Adam. After the game, we went out to Joe & Connie's where we had a yummy supper and then went out on their pontoon. They live on a quiet channel of the Missouri River.
Jace caught a few little fish and Cody truly had "the one that got away". His line started taking off like crazy and I was sure he had a snag. Ray grabbed his pole and said it was a fish. He handed it back to Cody because he wanted him to reel it in himself but some slack got in the line and the fish broke it. Ray & Joe are sure it was a monster Northern Pike. Joe even had the net and my camera was ready. Wish we could've gotten it in the boat! Had a little campfire when we got back and then Connie, the kids, and I went to bed. The guys finally came in from the fire at 3:45 AM!! I was not impressed but at least they were just in the yard.
Saturday, we spent the morning by the river. Jace caught several fish off the dock.
The 2nd soccer game was at 4 pm. I left a little early to stop at the mall. Wait until you see the awesome shoes I bought! I don't have a picture yet. This time, the team lost 8-0. It was discouraging. We went for supper at TGIFriday's and then for dessert at Cold Stone Creamery where Grace & her mom were working. The ice cream gave me a stomach ache so I had to stay at the house while everyone else went for an evening boat ride. When they came back, Joe showed Ray some guitar tips and sang us some tunes.
The last game was Sunday morning. It was at least a close match but they lost 6-3. Cody scored 2 of the goals.
There were air games that the kids played on.
The kids and I left before Ray because he had his truck and trailer to load up all our bathroom remodel stuff, finally! After he got home, I took the kids to Vacation Bible School and then we went golfing with the neighbors. Only had time for 4 holes but it was something!
