Though I'm a die hard Steelers fan, I have much respect for Brett Favre and the Packers. Therefore, it saddens me to see Favre finally retiring. It simply won't be the same without him. Brady may someday break Favre's records, but he will never have Favre's integrity and humbleness.
Well, it looks like Big Ben will be around for another 8 years with the Steelers. He was just signed to a $102 million deal! That's pretty impressive for the Steelers as they don't usually shell out those kinds of bucks. I'm glad, though.
He opened his presents from us and grandpa & grandma in the morning.
We went to Perkins for lunch. Then, the big party started at 5. There were 12 of Jace's friends plus our family. Craziness!
I bowled horribly, just a 106! I wonder if the Wii is messing up my real bowling. I rarely bowl under a 200 on it and my high game is 253! The bowling alley has a bar next to it and they provide pizza & pop. Then, we had cake.
I thought this was so cute. They must've ordered Jace a Steelers shirt and it didn't come in time so they put this in the card with the note "to come".
The party ended at 7 but 3 of the boys came home with us to spend the night. I was so wiped out. Lily and I fell asleep on the loveseat at 9:15! Can't tell you the last time I was asleep before 10. Ray picked up Lily and took her to bed, then returned and carried me to bed! Chivalry is not dead :) I felt bad leaving Ray to fend for himself with the boys. He said the last time he heard them was midnight!
Jace was born at 1:04 pm on February 9. He was 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long. Cody greets his new baby brother.
His birth announcement. I think it was a premonition of things to come. The outfit he's wearing came off a teddy bear! 6 months old 18 months 2 years 3 years 4 years (do you sense a theme) 5 years 6th Birthday His 7th Birthday are the photos at the top with the monster truck cake. Of course, I have to have a picture of his wrestling accomplishments. Here he is with his Triple Crown Trophy he earned in 2006. We have basketball this morning and then his party is at the bowling alley this evening. We love you, Jace!Did you watch any of the musical performances around the Super Bowl? What did you think of them?
I thought Jordin Sparks did an amazing job with the National Anthem. Paula Abdul was great and it's neat to see her back. I do not understand why Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were the half time show. I've never liked them and they've never been that popular. I think it was a horrible choice.
Besides the music, the game was totally amazing! The Giants rock!
How has technology improved your Super Bowl Sunday experience?
Well, it could have really helped since we're watching at our neighbor's who have a huge pull down screen, surround sound, and HD. However, Fox doesn't broadcast in HD!
Are you watching the Super Bowl today? Who are you watching it with, and which team do you want to win?
Of course! We're going to our neighbors' house to watch with just our two families. That does add up to 7 kids, though. Hopefully, they'll just be the opposite place of where we're trying to watch the game. Go Giants!

Fill this out about your Senior year of high school.
1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes, though he graduated 3 years before me. And I married him 3 years later.
2. Did you win anything in Senior's "Who's Who"? I don't think so but I thought I should've gotten Best Dressed.
3. What kind of car did you drive? At the end of my senior year, I drove a brand new, teal, Pontiac Grand Am that my dad bought me for graduation. It was awesome!
4. It's a Friday night. Where are you? Hanging out with Ray, watching a football game, or attending an SWDA (Students Without Drugs & Alcohol) event. I started the SWDA group my senior year.
5. Were you a party animal? Definitely not. I got drunk once the summer after my freshman year and haven't been again since. I started the SWDA group because it seemed like there wasn't anything to do in small town rural America if you didn't want to drink. Now Ray was another story.................
6. Were you considered a flirt? Maybe a little but Ray & I had been dating for 3 years by then so not much. Before Ray, I was seriously boy crazy.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? They didn't have orchestra. I was a first chair percussionist through my freshman year. I was the only girl and was continually harassed by the other boys so finally quit when the teacher refused to do anything about it. I was in choir every year and an audition group called "Something Special" for 3 years.
8. Were you a nerd? I don't think so. I graduated in the top 10% of my class so was a good student but I wouldn't call myself a nerd.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Never!
10. Can you sing the fight song? I could then.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mr. Stennes (choir teacher), Mr. Leibach (government teacher and chaperone of SWDA group), Mr. Burgess (business teacher, BPA leader, and cute), and Ms. Fehilly (accounting teacher).
12. Where did you sit during lunch? I rarely ate at school. Often walked to my BF's house which was a block away or Ray would pick me up and we'd go downtown.
13. What was your school's full name? Mascot? Sidney Senior High. Eagles!
14. Were you in homecoming court? Nope.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No way! I hated all the drama.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? It was pretty low key. I didn't want an open house so we just had some family and close friends go out for dinner at my parent's restaurant. If I were to do that again, I would have an open house.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? I didn't skip school.
18. Where you in any clubs? SWDA, Business Professionals of America, Student Council
19. Who was your senior prom date? Ray
20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Not only did I go, but I helped plan it. I hear the 20 year is the best.
21. Do you still talk to people from high school? I'm still in contact with about 6 girlfriends and 1 guy friend.
Think back to 9th grade:
-Who was your best friend? Dawn
-What sport did you play? I was a cheerleader
-What was your favorite class? Math
-Did you go to the dances? Yes
-Did you think you were cool? No, I was pretty insecure. Aren't most freshman?
-Describe your outfits? Big belts, blousy tops, and light-colored, high-waisted jeans. I tried to post some pics but it's giving me error messages.
-Did you have a cell phone? Had never heard of them.
-What was the best about 9th grade? When it was over and I met Ray!
-Do you miss it? NO!
Concert ticket stubs: do you toss them after the show, or keep them for the memories?
Usually keep them.
It brings me great joy to see the Cowboys get beat. The Patriots & Cowboys are my two least favorite teams. I was disappointed to see the Colts lose but it's not a huge deal since they won last year. Of course, I'll have to root against the Giants next weekend when they play the Packers.
