Ray & I were scoping out You Tube videos from our area last night. Let me just say that what we found was slightly frightening.

I think on one of our 2nd or 3rd dates, Ray took me with his buddies to go water skiing. Irrigation is big around here so there's a huge canal that goes through town. They were actually water skiing in the canal while being pulled by a truck!
Twenty years ago, I was sitting outside Taco John's with a friend when 2 guys pulled up in a primered gray pickup. We climbed in with them (all 4 in the front seat) and laughed hysterically all night long. I've been happily married to the driver of that truck for 14 years now.
Also, a big Happy Birthday today to Deb (Bluebird)!
Is anyone else having trouble posting pictures and links?
Saturday was Ray's work Christmas party.
Aside from being a popsicle the entire evening, it was a great time. We had a good meal with one of the best desserts I've ever had. It was vanilla ice cream with cubed apples, walnuts, cinnamon, and some type of sauce. The sauce seemed a little like caramel but wasn't as thick. All I know is it tasted like I piece of heaven and I simply must find out how to recreate it!
The entertainment was an improv group called The Linebenders. It was similar to "Whose Line is it Anyway". In this skit, two members from the group chose two volunteers to be their "arms". They are supposed to be knitting. The girl on the left is Jace's godmother.
Then, they wanted to recreate a couple's first date. Since Ray's the boss, we were volunteered. We should've told them how I originally caught Ray's eye because it would've made it funnier. However, we started where Ray picked me up outside Taco John's. Ray had a friend with him & I had a friend with me but we forgot to tell them we were all in the front seat. The guy in the white is supposed to be me and the driver is Ray. When they heard we were from MT, they had to crack a few sheep jokes .
Yesterday was Lily's Holiday Ice Show. Her 1st number was "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year".
She was also in the final number.
After the show was over, they had open skating, cookies & hot cider.
She's always the poser!
Tell us how you met your significant other.

I've posted it before so I'll just share the link for those who haven't already read it. How We Met
Sunday morning during the children's sermon, Cody was chosen to be a volunteer. The 4 volunteers each got 12 (yes 12) tootsie rolls. Jace's godparents' 2 yr old daughter walked over and was just staring at the bowl of tootsie rolls so Cody gave her one of his.
This is Cody's first year of being a Sunday School helper. He's great with kids but I worry a little that he'll be more of another kid than a helper. After all, he's horrible in my choir but that's with me. Last Sunday, the main teacher was late but I was told that Cody had his 1st graders all in check and started on their journaling assignment.
The private school our kids attend is one block from the public middle school. They're allow to participate in all regular extra-curricular activities so Cody walks over 3 days a week for band. He recently informed us that he was asked out by a girl who sits in front of him in band. I am sooooo not ready for this! Cody nicely told the girl no. Ray said to always make sure and be nice even when you're turning someone down. He's such a good dad. I'm also thankful that Cody currently has no interest in girls whatsoever even though he has some friends who are dating. One mother actually encourages it!
P/T conferences were last night. We knew Jace & Lily's would be a breeze but were fearful for Cody's. Cody is very bright but struggles with organization and forgetting things. For example, he constantly forgets his tenor sax. Not at home, but in the back of the car! Even when I say "don't forget your sax". Anyway, he's got a few bad grades because he completes his homework and then doesn't get it turned in. Seriously, why even go to the trouble if you're not going to hand it in? We got to his conference and the teacher's main goal was how do we help Cody succeed without 1. constantly punishing him 2. constantly reminding him (she said I get an "A") and 3. lowering his self esteem. We need to prepare him so that he can be successful next year in middle school. Its a small miracle that I managed not to start crying and hug the teacher because I LOVE her! All teachers should be like her! She even said that when he forgets about an assignment until late in the evening, that there's no point in trying to do it when everyone is tired. Instead, Ray should drop Cody off at school when he goes to work at 7:30 because she'll be there and he can finish his assignment then. We came up with several other ideas but need Cody's input and buy-in so we're all meeting on Thursday. Did I mention that I love his teacher?
The Black Cats blew a 14-0 lead last night and lost 20-26. Cody didn't score a TD but had one really long run that got to about the 5 yard line.
One of our neighbors here at the lake, K, is a single dad with a 3 yr old daughter. We noticed him pull in last night and my jaw almost dropped to the floor when I saw my BFF from high school, D, get out the passenger side. She actually lived in our town until last year when she moved back home. She's a single mom of 2 boys. They're both good people and I think could make a nice couple. I guess they've been dating since January. I hope it works out and its so fun to have a friend close! D and K's daughter came over to watch us do some of our fireworks last night. K's daughter just turned 3 and Lily was having fun taking care of her.
Have you ever had a premonition about something that came true?

Not really but my husband did. Around his high school graduation, he kept having dreams about something bad happening to him and his sister but didn't know exactly what. A few weeks after graduation, he woke up one day and looked in the mirror. He was wearing the same shirt he'd been wearing in the dreams and knew "this was the day". He was down in Wyoming visiting family at the time. He was driving a truck with his sister in the middle and his best friend beside her. They were driving down a gravel road on the way to his grandparents' house when they blew a tire on a curve and rolled. Of course, none of them were wearing seat belts. When they stopped, Ray & his sister were standing where the windshield had been. Ray wasn't hurt but his sister had blood running down her face and he was worried she'd damaged her eye because he couldn't see it through the blood. He looked around for his friend but couldn't find him. Finally, he spotted him laying in the middle of the road, unconscious, where he'd been thrown during the rollover. Ray started administering first aid until the paramedics arrived.
Turned out his sister just had a cut on her head from the rear view mirror. However, the paramedics told Ray once at the accident site and again on the way to the hospital that his friend was dead. He was losing a tremendous amount of blood. It took several weeks, but his friend recovered. They had just been back in Montana for a few days when we first met. He was still pretty traumatized over the whole ordeal. His friend is doing fine now and has even battled testicular cancer.

Fill this out about your Senior year of high school.
1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes, though he graduated 3 years before me. And I married him 3 years later.
2. Did you win anything in Senior's "Who's Who"? I don't think so but I thought I should've gotten Best Dressed.
3. What kind of car did you drive? At the end of my senior year, I drove a brand new, teal, Pontiac Grand Am that my dad bought me for graduation. It was awesome!
4. It's a Friday night. Where are you? Hanging out with Ray, watching a football game, or attending an SWDA (Students Without Drugs & Alcohol) event. I started the SWDA group my senior year.
5. Were you a party animal? Definitely not. I got drunk once the summer after my freshman year and haven't been again since. I started the SWDA group because it seemed like there wasn't anything to do in small town rural America if you didn't want to drink. Now Ray was another story.................
6. Were you considered a flirt? Maybe a little but Ray & I had been dating for 3 years by then so not much. Before Ray, I was seriously boy crazy.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? They didn't have orchestra. I was a first chair percussionist through my freshman year. I was the only girl and was continually harassed by the other boys so finally quit when the teacher refused to do anything about it. I was in choir every year and an audition group called "Something Special" for 3 years.
8. Were you a nerd? I don't think so. I graduated in the top 10% of my class so was a good student but I wouldn't call myself a nerd.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Never!
10. Can you sing the fight song? I could then.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mr. Stennes (choir teacher), Mr. Leibach (government teacher and chaperone of SWDA group), Mr. Burgess (business teacher, BPA leader, and cute), and Ms. Fehilly (accounting teacher).
12. Where did you sit during lunch? I rarely ate at school. Often walked to my BF's house which was a block away or Ray would pick me up and we'd go downtown.
13. What was your school's full name? Mascot? Sidney Senior High. Eagles!
14. Were you in homecoming court? Nope.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No way! I hated all the drama.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? It was pretty low key. I didn't want an open house so we just had some family and close friends go out for dinner at my parent's restaurant. If I were to do that again, I would have an open house.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? I didn't skip school.
18. Where you in any clubs? SWDA, Business Professionals of America, Student Council
19. Who was your senior prom date? Ray
20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Not only did I go, but I helped plan it. I hear the 20 year is the best.
21. Do you still talk to people from high school? I'm still in contact with about 6 girlfriends and 1 guy friend.
Think back to 9th grade:
-Who was your best friend? Dawn
-What sport did you play? I was a cheerleader
-What was your favorite class? Math
-Did you go to the dances? Yes
-Did you think you were cool? No, I was pretty insecure. Aren't most freshman?
-Describe your outfits? Big belts, blousy tops, and light-colored, high-waisted jeans. I tried to post some pics but it's giving me error messages.
-Did you have a cell phone? Had never heard of them.
-What was the best about 9th grade? When it was over and I met Ray!
-Do you miss it? NO!
