T - Time
The kids and I spent yesterday at a soccer tournament. The temp. was around 70 but the wind was blowing about 40 mph (I'm not exaggerating). During Cody's first game, he went off the field clutching his stomach at almost halftime. Next thing I knew, he was puking! I was hoping it was a migraine and not the stomach flu. I had Jace run around to the other side of the field and check and it was a migraine. I keep Advil Jr. in my purse for him so gave him some. I don't know why he didn't say something earlier. If he tells me right away, we can usually head them off before they get severe. He laid down under a blanket for about 15 minutes. Then, he was back on the field and scoring a goal to end the game in a tie! I can't believe how resilient kids are.
Jace's team dominated both of their games. Jace and Gndsgang's son were actually told they had to stop scoring. Unforuntately, the coach of the opposing team during Cody's 2nd game was not as kind. This tournament is supposed to be for recreational teams, not competitive. We were specifically told last year not to bring our competitive teams. However, one town still did. We were behind 0-9 when our coach asked the other coach to back his players off a bit to give us a chance. The jerk refused and when they scored again, our coach ended the game. Seriously, what does it teach kids to just have them be annihilated for the fun of it?
We all went to a fun pizza place afterwards. Ray didn't join us because he and a buddy are in an annual fishing tournament this weekend. They were sitting quite well after the first day in 5th place. The top 20 places win a minimum of their entry fee back. Ray caught a 6 lb. northern pike and they got their limit in walleye. I can't imagine what it must've been like on the water with that wind. Today seems like a much nicer day. Jace has his last rec. soccer game this afternoon and then I'm finally going golfing for the first time this season! Ray will be joining me, Gndsgang, and her hubby at the golf course.

Oh man, migraines are so bad. I've never had one, but I feel so horrible for Steve when he gets one. He usually able to head them off too. Do you get them? Glad to hear he bounced back pretty quickly.
Sounds like a good day despite the migraine and the horrible coach Jace's team ended up against. I'm telling ya, they need to start interviewing these coaches! There's always at least one jerk of a coach in every kids' sport league.
