Sweet Revenge
We played the Orange team again last night. They are the only local team that we've lost to and that was the game where we had a big lead going into halftime and then fell apart. It was mostly a defensive struggle in the 1st half. Our main receiver was out sick so Cody took his place. Our 1st TD came on a gorgeous 20 yard pass to Cody which he caught and ran another 15 yards into the endzone. We missed the 2-point conversion. Our 2nd TD was a 20 yard reception for Gndsgang's son. It was his very 1st TD so we were very excited for him! Unfortunately, his dad wasn't there to see it. We didn't make our 2nd attempt at a 2-point conversion either. We went on to score 1 more TD and the 2-point conversion so won 20-0!!! That's right. We skunked them! Take that! (Can you tell I'm not very competitive)?
Cody's stats for the game:
4 tackles
5 carries for 12 yards
1 reception for 35 yards and a TD
2 kick offs for 25 and 28 yards
1 punt for 25 yards
On another note, I made my very first potato soup yesterday. My Big Grandma made the best potato soup but it's 1 recipe nobody seems to have anymore. I finally decided to just try a recipe from my church cookbook. I put it in the crockpot around noon. Everybody (but Cody who likes nothing) loved it!! I couldn't believe how good it was. I doubled the recipe but still didn't end up with any leftovers which I was hoping to have for lunch today. Guess I better triple it next time! I also need to cut the potatoes smaller.
