School's Out for the Summer!

As of 11 am this morning, the kids are officially done with school for the summer! Lily actually got done yesterday. They finished the year with a program.

It hit me kind of hard because I have no more children to go through this wonderful preschool. Another phase of life has passed.

The older kids all spent the day at the park having a picnic and games.

Ray's taking the day off tomorrow so we're leaving for the lake in the morning. I can't wait!

I know what you mean about feeling sad. When Joey finishes 2nd grade we'll be done with Churchill School (half of Churchill-Hoover elementary). Churchill is just K-2 and I just loved it.

Is that when they'll start at the private school?

They'll go to private school when they finish at Hoover, which is 3rd - 5th grade. They're going all the way through public elementary; it's just that this particular elementary is divided among two buildings (but shares administration so it's considered as one). It's the only elementary in town that's like this but I like it because the little-little kids and the older-little kids are separate. Also, there's just something kind of sweet about a school building that's only K-2.
